Vulindlela Nyoni 

B. 1976


Dr. Vulindlela Nyoni, born in 1976 in Chilimanzi, Zimbabwe, is an Associate Professor and Head of the Visual Arts Department at Nelson Mandela University, South Africa.

He holds a BA in Fine Arts and an MA from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as a DPhil in Philosophy. Nyoni's research and artistic practice focus on race, gender, and the visual politics of representation, particularly within the context of diasporic subjectivity.

He has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, and has served as a selector for major art competitions. Nyoni continues to expand his profile as an artist, educator, and curator.
