The Timberbank is a distinctive outdoor seating area designed in a half-circle layout, located next to the Eerste River. Crafted from reclaimed timber logs sourced from trees that fell during the storms of Winter 2024, this amphitheatre spans approximately 10 metres, offering a scenic seating option.
From here, you can enjoy views of the river, an important cultural and geographical landmark in Stellenbosch. The Eerste River, vital in the town’s early settlement, provided water for agriculture and daily life, supporting the development of Stellenbosch’s vineyards. Today, it remains an integral part of the area’s identity.
