Adam Birch

B. 1967

Adam Birch (b. 1967) is a Cape Town-based sculptor known for transforming discarded tree forks into functional, elegant sculptures. With a fine art degree from Stellenbosch University (2000) and a background as a tree surgeon, he specializes in working with alien species or fallen indigenous trees, preserving their natural essence. Using a chainsaw, he meticulously shapes wood without assemblage, refining its grain and form into sleek, organic designs.

His work, exhibited globally, merges craftsmanship with sustainability, offering a poetic reflection on transformation and resilience.
