Rose Kirumira Namubiru

Dr. Rose Namubiru Kirumira, born in 1962, is a leading Ugandan sculptor and an Associate Professor at the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts at Makerere University.

She holds a PhD in Art Education, with research focused on the value of informal learning spaces in African visual arts. Dr. Kirumira is versatile in various media, particularly wood, metal, and terracotta.

An internationally recognized artist, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and artist workshops across Africa, Europe, and the USA. Her administrative roles at Makerere University and contributions to the arts community highlight her influence as an educator and artist.
